Philanthrofic is an annual fandom charity drive wherein fans who make non-monetary donations to a charity can submit proof of that donation in exchange for a fanfiction or art piece which will be written or drawn according to their request.
The first run of Philanthrofic will begin on April 2nd when we will open for submissions of donation proof and requests. Submissions will close on April 30th, after which our team of authors and artists will have a working period which lasts until May 31st, after which the requested fanworks will be posted.
The goal is to encourage non-monetary donations to charitable causes across the world. This means donations of time, blood, and goods (such as foods, clothes, toys, etc). Volunteer, give blood, donate to your local food bank, get involved in the charitable causes that mean something to you.
Philanthrofic was Tundra's idea, and as such he acts as our main organiser. As of 2025 he has written 250 works on AO3 almost entirely in the Mortal Kombat fandom. He organises most of our front end, and interactions with our team and the public through tumblr as he maintains and develops all our posts on there. As well as during the submission period writing.
Elliot is an avid fan of anime, and writes on AO3 as well although not as frequently. When Tundra reached out to him for Philanthrofic was super excited to join the team and work on it mainly focusing on writing, as well as handling the technical side of things (like this website). He mainly publishes fanfiction for whatever show he's currently hyperfixated on.
As a close friend of Tundra, Jinx came onboard to help balance workload, especially during the submissions and posting periods when the other organisers are likely to be busy writing fics! Their role is primarily admin but they also help brainstorm and troubleshoot the project. Especially during the early stages of planning with both Tundra and Elliot. AO3 n00b, fandom oldhead.
